UCL European Careers Event 2019

Join the European Institute for panel discussions on pathways to careers in Europe, followed by a networking lunch.

UCL students and graduates are invited to join us for a lunchtime discussion and networking event to hear from a range of speakers about career options in Europe. As Brexit has made European affairs a top-priority for many professionals, the event features representatives from a range of sectors, including politics and policymaking, journalism, diplomacy, and public affairs and the think tank world.


10.30-11.30 Panel One: Think tank, consultancy, lobbying and journalism

  • Charlotte Chase – Policy Analyst, European Policy Forum
  • Sam Cage – Founder of CCC Strategic Communications (Copenhagen), former Senior Communication Partner at Maersk (Copenhagen), former Bureau Chief and Correspondent for Reuters in Zurich, Bucharest and Dublin.
  • Giovanni Liva – Policy Analyst, Open Evidence and former Account Executive, Edelman Brussels
  • Simona Lipstaite – International Public Policy Manager, Access Partnership and former lobbyist and MEP assistant.
  • Chaired by Claudia Sternberg, UCL European Institute.

Panel followed by Q&A session with the audience.

  • Jessica Davenport – UK Civil Service Policy Advisor, Foreign and Commonwealth Office
  • Naina Gupta – EU Careers Ambassador for London Universities, EPSO
  • Clement Leroy – Research and Policy engagement Associate, UCL, former Policy analyst at the French Embassy in London and the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs
  • Chaired by Oliver Patel, UCL European Institute
