EXHIBITIONism: Curating Super-Culture at Ace Hotel London Shoreditch

This four-part series of talks looks at the process of conceiving and constructing large-scale exhibitions via the opinions of some of the most influential curators, historians, producers and designers.
Feb 6th – CURATING SUPER-CULTURE
Exhibitions have the ability to unearth, give life and delicately expose the otherwise private archives of iconic personas. When curating a show around an icon, how do you uncover and go beyond the myth without destroying the legacy? From pop music icons to giants of the fashion world, some exhibitions transcend time and place – super cultural extravaganzas that chart the visionary exploits and impact of game-changing personas.
This talk with Katie Baron, Victoria Broackes (V&A) and Eleanor Nairne (Barbican) will discuss the trajectory of putting on a blockbuster show, and how they have stitched together some of the most transformational moments and careers in pop cultural history – from amassing huge private collections to putting on a sell-out Exhibition.
